I know of Naruto, Dragon Ball, Z, GT, Full Metal Alchemist, and Avatar. What else is a good Japanese cartoon? I would really appreciate if anyone told me.

First of all, Japanese cartoons are called anime. Here are some really good ones:

-Bleach
-Yu-Yu Hakusho
-Rurouni Kenshin
-Samurai Champloo
-Fruits Basket

P.S. Avatar is not an anime. It's an American cartoon, styled to be like an anime

I like Japanese cartoons better than American cartoons. The Japanese cartoon producers just seem to put much more effort into their cartoons in about every aspect. The characters are better, the story is better and most of the time original, the fight scenes if any are always better when they are Japanese made. Animes that are made for people that are mature, always have some sort of deep, intriguing, mostly meaning storyline that is entertaining and emotional. Whereas I find that American cartoons that are for mature people(15+) are meaningless, very stupid, pointless and nearly always filled with over the top sexual references/jokes and just too much swearing, because it seems the makers think when you have these you are automatically comedy gold. e.g South Park, Drawn Together. They have no storylines whatsoever and the characters are very shallow. I don't really care if people call Anime cartoons cause that's what they really are, however I do get irritated when people say "Anime? That's like for 8 year olds, grow up man".

Ooh. First and foremost: COWBOY BEBOP. Just... watch it. Trust me, you won't regret it. I'm a shojo fan, mostly, so if you're into the more romantic-comedy kind of stuff, I'd highly recommend Fruits Basket (try the manga, too, it's superb), Kare Kano (His and Her Circumstances, in English), or Full Moon o Sagashite. Outside of the girly stuff, I'd once again recommend Cowboy Bebop, Inu Yasha (although this one is insanely long. You're in for a long hawl.), and Tenchi Muyo. There's a lot more out there, good and bad. Good luck!
