The earth is in the "sweet spot" with respect to the sun. This zone provides sufficient energy from the sun, but allowed for the formation of the earth's atmosphere and oceans without boil off. Mars may have had water and atmosphere, but its gravitation force was not sufficient to prevent boil off.
Having said that, there still are possiblities that there may be non-terrestrial life in our solar system. One possiblility is Saturn's moon Titan. More info on Titan from Wikipedia, the free, online encyclopedia at:

Hope this helps!

Perhaps because there is no life outside of Earth in our solar system?
(Actually, I am not sure what you mean by "living planet". Do you mean geologically active, or with life on it? If the former, there is geological activity on other planets and moons.)
There is a good chance we will find life only outside of the solar system, in other star systems, when we can go there, which will not happen overnight.

Because God put life here and only here. Read the good book and you will find that God said he made NO OTHER like us.
