My extended family all winds up at my elderly aunt's house Christmas night. It is the most visiting we get done with each other, now that the days of each family going to each other's house one evening during the weeks around the holiday seems to have passed. That used to be my favorite tradition. We called it show and tell. Everyone had to drag out all their presents and show what they got, and we ate ach other's food, and the parents visited at the table and maybe played games, and the kids played with all the new toys.

Going out Christmas Eve with a buddy so he can go shopping for his wife and kids. This turns out to be a good drunken time. We bring the gifts back to a local bar & the bartender wraps all our gifts for us. Been doing this for over 15 years now.

WE HAVE A FEW CHRISTMAS TRADITIONS I LOVE.
FIRST IS THE TRADITIONAL CHRISTMAS EVE PRESENT. MY MOM SAW THAT WE OPENED ONE GIFT AND IT WAS ALWAYS A BEAUTIFUL NIGHTGOWN OR P.J. THIS WAY WHEN WE GOT UP WE WERE READY FOR PICTURES.
SECOND MY GRANDMA STARTED THIS ONE WHICH WAS WHEN SOMEONE ASKS WHAT THEY GOT FOR CHRISTMAS, THE REPLY WAS A BOX WITH 5 RED HANDLES. NOT SURE WHY, BUT MY MOM WOULD SAY IT TO ME AND MY HUSBAND WAS SO IMPRESSED WITH THIS HE MADE HER A BOX WITH 5 RED HANDLES. HE GAVE IT TO HER THE LAST CHRISTMAS SHE WAS ALIVE. WE NOW HAVE IT AND IT IS PART OF OUR CHRISTMAS.
THIRD IS WHEN THE TREE GOES UP AND WHEN IT COMES DOWN. ONCE AGAIN IT IS TIED TO MY MOM. SHE LOVED THE HOLIDAYS WITH CHRISTMAS BEING HER FAVORITE. OUR TREE WENT UP ON DAY AFTER THANKSGIVING AND CAME DOWN ON THEIR WEDDING ANNIVERSARY. WHICH ALSO HAPPENED TO BE EPIPHANY OR JAN 6TH THE 12TH DAY AFTER CHRISTMAS. MY OLDEST DAUGHTER WAS ALSO BORN ON THIS DAY.
AS YOU CAN SEE I CAN'T PICK JUST ONE.
