2. it tells the story it feels the majority wants to hear so it can keep it's readers and watchers.
3. for the most part, readers and watchers are happy to remain at a primitive level of black and white thinking AND be told what to think.

I agree with all your points. The media has sensationalized many 'fluff' stories, and reports almost constantly on them, for example: Michael Jackson; Paris Hilton; Scott Peterson; the list goes on. They have been negligent in reporting world news, such as the horrors going on in Darfur. They do not report news of this type in the same way they report celebrity-based stories.

They are completely untrustworthy. One may as well get his news from 'The National Enquirer'.
