For me, there is two types of love. Firstly, I love a great number of people - friends and family. When I say I love someone, it means I care for them greatly, and they are incredibly special to me. I do tell my friends and family that I love them, but very few say it back - people just seem to be afraid to be open about how they feel. If I love someone, I tell them - end of. Why hide things? I've loved a lot of friends, male and female, over time, and I've never had a negative response when I've told them - this sort of love doesn't mean I'm interested in them in a romantic way, just that I truly care for them. I am affectionate with many of my friends that I love - it isn't a romantic thing, just hugging, kissing and cuddling - just a way of showing them what they mean to me - but, if I was in a realtionship, that would stop.
Secondly, there is romantic love, and this is something much more special, that is reserved for a sacred few people. I'm more nervous about telling these people, as it hurts much more if they don't feel the same way. It is a nice feeling, all warm and fuzzy :)
I don't think romantic love is exclusive either - it is possible to love more than one person at once - but, becuase you are in love, you choose to be faithful. Thats not to say that I, like other people, haven't made mistakes and cheated, but you can tell how much you do really love someone by how you feel after you've betrayed them - if you do love them, you will feel so awful that you won't do it again. Cheating once can be forgiven, but never twice.
I don't have a problem with someone I love loving somone else, aslong as it is within reasonable boundaries, and as long as If they are with me, as an item, they are faithful and commited, and put me first.
I'd like to think that there is one person out there for everyone, one true love, but I don't think there is. Some people are more suited to us than others, you've got to listen to your heart and be sensible with your descisions. Love and infatuation are both wonderful things, and although easy to confuse, are totally different things. Infatuation doesn't last, so you've really got to enjoy it while you can!
What love feels like to me... Hmm, its hard to describe what love is - it feels all warm, and snug, and secure. You think about that person alot, you do things for them, you want them to be happy. Sometimes, you'd rather they were happy than you were happy. You want to spend time with them, you want to be close. You are happy and comfortable gazing in to their eyes. When you are together the rest of the world is forgotten, you feel whole, happy and peaceful. You just want to spend all your time snuggled up in bed with them, just being close, just being together.
Ahh, this is such a lovely question, thank you for reminding me about love and how wonderful it is. And, to my special guy, if you are reading this - I love ya :)

i think you can relax so deeply and accept things to such an extent that you feel love in everything. you will still react to oppose things which seem out of harmony with the circumstances, but there is what i guess is 'unconditional love' for life itself which goes beyond all circumstances and forms. i think letting go of the ideas which make us tense and consciously relaxing into every moment can take you to a love that is unconquerable. while i think this will give you great 'power' in the world, this love conquers the fear inside, rather than obstacles outside, which may still persist.

Love is loving yer kids, yer friends but real love is wanting to spend every moment with someone. Being in Love is to worship the ground they walk on, never found that feeling, but must be nice, so long as they feel the same, or life could be total hell !!

You can't explain true love. Is something you feel, and that can not be explained. It is just a need to be with someone. It is the joy that you fell when you see her/him, even without makeup, or with messy hair.
It's the wish of growing old besides that special someone, when you don't care if the two of you can barely see eachother because of old age, knowing that you are near.
And that you can't explain. You have to feel it for your self.

Love to me, means something you cherish, and something you adore with all your heart and soul..... To me the word love shouldnt be used lightly, and when it is said, it has meaning....... I think when you are loved, and when you show love, it is your own version of paradise.....
If this sounds a bit weird to you, then I am very sorry, but that is my definition of love..... Happy New Year!

Love has such a shade of meaning
I love the sea, I love the navy
I love my biscuiots soaked in gravy....etc.
In human relationships, whether romantic love or otherwise:-
LOVE means putting the others interests FIRST.

In tennis it means nothing - just like sex with your girlfriend's best friend.
