Smouldering is a description in today's lingo of someone who possibly transgresses being simply `hot'. Smouldering suggests hidden sexual depths where hot can just mean sexy. Smouldering can also describe personality, character or personal presence, high intelligence along with high sexual magnetism attracting all who come into close radius. A model may be `hot' but personality, intelligence AND sexuality smolders . . .phew!

smouldering what? or smouldering with what?

smoudering is like what hot coals do. they crackle slightly, they don't move, they're calm but they have a nuanced menacing quality about them, a sort of aggression.

smouldering (for humans) is all in the posture and the eyes if we're talking bodywise or it's something you're about to do & you're very eager if it's a mental attitude.

it's usually said in connection to sex and sex appeal, but it' perfectly valid for people "smouldering with anger/rager/need/lust..."

or ... "her indifference was a cool, smouldering rejection which crept in cold waves of panic and horror suddenly down his back.
his immediate response was lust. a smouldering impotent beast that raged in his loins uselessly. it became a flaccid embarrasssing thing once the permanence of her regard settled in. that's when the anguish a deeply penetrating and all consuming madness took him and roasted him in smothering smouldering betrayal. She had sent him flowers. He looked that them a dejected rejected purposeless puppet. Nothing says goodbye like a wreath.

.. sorry, got abit carried away here!!

Using a campfire as an example. It is usually a term to describe a fire that hasn't extinguished itself. The embers are still active beneath the twigs which is why it is necessary to dump a bucket of water on a campfire as it can still ignite and become a roaring fire again.

Using the emotions of temper or love, it can mean that something is hidden underneath the surface and is heating up.

Hope this helps. Merry, Merry.
