Let me tell ya just_gone. I am a Christian American from Arabic descend. I do not feel I am safe in any other country anymore. In the Middle East, Christians are targeted as Westerners' supporters (my last name reflects that). In Europe, I will be targeted as a fanatic Muslim since I have the olive-tone skin. In my country, the USA, ignorant prejudice people assume I am a terrorists when I open my mouth due to my accent. Thanks to president G. Bush for creating this profile which I never experienced it since I have been in the USA for over thirty years.

Depends on which foreign country you are talking about. Most of them, I feel more safe. I travel a great deal to third world countries with my job. Today is safer than ever before. There are a few places that I would say I would feel less safe. For example, Somalia. 10 years ago there was a government, today, war lords. There are a few others similar to Somalia, but the majority are safer and better places.
