I'm just really curious... in every role since REASONABLE DOUBTS his characters have used sign at one point or another and he seems very fluent.

I read that he has family members that are deaf.... so he had to learn it to communicate with them.

He studied ASL at a school called The Sign Company. Don't know how fluent he is.

I have researched and can't find anything on if he is fluent or if he learns just what he needs to know for his roles. Maybe he learned it while on set for Reasonable Doubts?

My guess is that he was taught it for the show and probably has someone that helps him with the show...probably his own personal sign language assistant that teaches him for his role

idk. hmm, he could have gone through school or taken classes. my mom used to teach at the school for the deaf.
