There are a variety of ways to season a turkey. One popular way is to "brine" it. I did this at Thanksgiving and it turned out great. Brining is simply soaking the turkey in a salt water solution overnight. Don't worry about making the turkey too salty, it won't be. It keeps the breast moist. You can check Google for these recipes. Another good way is to inject the turkey with seasonings. I use a mixture of olive oil, salt, pepper, sage, cayenne, paprika, celery salt and use a 'turkey injector' to inject. I also cut small slits in the turkey and stuff garlic cloves everywhere.

Sage and onion one end, sausage meat stuffing the other, butter pushed just under the skin over the breast and few slices of bacon laid over the top.
