Find a piano teacher and tell them what you want to do.

It is not enough to just "read" the notes. Music is written in a "key" designated by sharps or flats.
Music has dynamics (louder/softer) and tempo (fast/slow) as well as pitch.
Music also has a certain pace (steady beat) which is significant when the music contains a rest (silence). You must know when an entrance (start playing/singing) or a cutoff (stop playing/singing) must occur so that the vocal group or ensemble performs as a group and produces a blended sound, rather than merely a chaotic group of soloists out of time with each other.

To begin, think of musical notes as indicators of, among other things, DURATIONS. Meaning a whole note lasts for a certain amount of time, a half for half of that time, a quarter for a quarter of that time, and so on. You can practice that, beating with your left hand on a table at a rate of, say, 60 beats per minute, and beating with your right hand at a rate of 120 beats per minute, which means that you'll be hitting your table twice with your right hand in the same amount of time you hit it once with your left hand.
