I know people will argue the point but there is a difference between living together and being married. When two people are living together they can leave at any time. The relationship can always be stopped for any reason. To get out of a marriage it takes lawyers and judges.

Because of this, you never truly see someone's true colors until you are married. I know a couple who lived together for 12 years then got married and divorced a year later. Because being married made a difference.

I have been living with my boyfriend for three and a half years and it has completely opened my eyes. I was brought up to think that you should never live with man before marriage, but now I think it is a must. You don't want to move in with him and discover that this man is a complete slob. There is nothing more intimate than knowing if the person you are planning on spending your life with doesn't know how to do laundry or pick up his sock. So no its a great idea. That's the only way to truly get to know them.

I think it's a good thing, you really get to know someone when you are living with them, it made me see the real person I was about to be married to and made me realize that our relationship would never work after seeing the real person behind the lies. It's easy to pretend you are someone that you aren't in phone conversations, emails and even on dates, but when you are together 24 7, it doesn't take long for the real personality to come out. It's the best thing I ever did, shortlived, but wise.

Yes! If you are the guy and live at home with Mommy, you are not ready to get married. If you are the girl and live with mom it's not too bad. Get an apartment of your own first. Let her visit, wink, wink, and see if you feel the same. No one should move in with a mate straight from moms house. It's just wrong!

I don't think it's a mistake. You never really 'know' someone until you see ALL the good and bad. Thats a surefire way to see all parts of your significant other. Better to find any incompatibility issues before you get married instead of after.

Shacking up is great and you get all the pu$$y you want for free. What more could you ask for.

That is a question you will have to ask yourself. Be honest with yourself and make sure your answer is within your moral boundaries. People try to say the Bible states that it's wrong. However, anything can be proven or disproven by the Bible. As Shakespere wrote in Hamlet, "To thy own self be true."
