The Joule is a measure of energy, which can take many forms. So, 1 joule of electric energy = 1 joule of heat energy = 1 joule of potential energy of postion = 1 joule of ... well, you get the idea.

The watt is a unit of power defined as 1 joule applied for 1 second.

Both heat and electricity are forms of energy.
In theory and assuming no energy losses, heat energy of one joule per second will produce to one watt of electricity.

1 joule = 0.239 calorie (heat)
