No, if you are formatting other drives, not the one in which you have stored the files of WINDOWS.
If you format the one in which windows files are there , then you will have to reinstall the whole WINDOWS again

Of course u have to if u format the full hard disk as the data is completely erased and u have no chance of restoring the data once u format it. But if u dont format the drive in which the operating system(windows) is installed then there is no need for reinstallation of windows

Hi,

When you format your main C:\ hard drive your are erasing everything that is on it...every file, every pictures every thing. This includes, unfortunately the Window operating software.

So yes, if you format you'll indeed need to re-install windows. If it's a data drive (D:, E: etc) then simply format it and you are fine, you'll not need to re-install Windows since you've not affected it.

Make sure you have any important files copied to CD, DVD or an external drive before you format. If not, those files and documents are gone forever.

I hope this helps.

Yes you do need to reinstall Windows if you formatted your C:/ Drive which contains all the windows files.
But if you deleted another Drive then in that case you dont need to reinstall your windows.

Yes. This action wipes out everything. Make sure you follow procedures and reinstall the drivers and the progams per standard regulations.

It's all about starting anew.
