I mean, what is the point, who cares about what she has to say. She isn't helping me in any way. And all she has to say is a load of bullocks anyway.

Most of the stuff put out on TV is pointless so what the heck. The speech is only for a few minutes and viewing figures for her speech suggest there is a demand for it. As the head of state it is appropriate that she addresses the nation so why not at Christmas.

The thread of your question suggests that she should be doing something for you. This comes across that you are someone who looks to other people to provide for you. Your vocabulary also suggests that you are a bit limited on the IQ front.

I avoid the Queens speech...
This year, my 16 year old son, wanted to hear the speech, to see, what he was missing...
He turned the channel over after a boring 2 minutes!

What do you really know about the Queen of this country? Nothing, you know absolutely nothing. So you would betray your Queen and country then? That isn't very nice. Actually many people especially older people do watch the Queens speech. I would say you don't even know what the speech is all about. Her message to the people of this country is welcomed by many and you can shout all you like but that is not going to change. Most people in this country are not traitors like you.

i dont usually watch it but i do see highlights and i agree with you. she is so out of touch with society that she doesnt know the problems in britain. doesnt she say the same thing every year anyway? and this year she said something about a generation gap, shouldnt it be more like a gap between the royals and the rest of society?

I never listen to any of her speeches since they usually last for what seems like an eternity and end up boring me within about 10 seconds

Not I. It does still get a fair sized audience but if you don't want to watch you don't have to. what she says is always well thought out but it is targeted at a different audience to you and I which is why it seems like B S. never mind we'll live our live and leave them to their own shall we?

i havent watched it for years but some people like it. i think it is unnecessary and that the Queen is not relevant in our society anymore , just an income for the country.

It's contrived public relations episode aimed at us financing her even more. It's also a kiss-butt to the government.
