One should not judge a country by the leaders it has. People of one country may chose a leader, sometimes by force, against to their conciousness. To judge a country, one has to travel around the country and mix with the common people and know their culture, their attitude, their preferences etc.

I think depends of the country.
For example in Spain there are two main leader parties, one center-right and the other socialist which I think represent very well the Spanish people because I would say, we are 50% socialist and the other half center-right so, as conclusion, I think would be wrong if someone judges Spain because of its politics when really half of the country supports very different politics.
I hope this contributes to your question.
Regards.

You can't judge the people of a country by what its politicians do.
Although try telling that to some of the ranting bigots of this world.

A country is best judged by its culture and not by its politics.

NO! But because you can't trust ANY politician. All politicians lie, cheat, decieve and manipulate the truth to suit their own needs, so you tend to treat the country as a whole in the same manner. The people of most countries couldn't give a rats butt about their politicians because they feel the same way as we do about ours.

If the country is rich and the people in it are dirt poor, than that goes to show you what a shitty politcal system it has, and thus, what a crappy country it is. "rich flip theory"
If the country is poor, and it's citizens are rich, than that will tell you that there will be an uprising in which the richest man runs the place. thats the "poor flip theory"
If the country is average and its people live decenct average lives, that country is stable, and this is called, "anywhere but america"

You can, but you shouldn't. More often than not a Country's Politicians do not represent the majority of the people.

How do you feel about Russia? How do you feel about China? North Korea? Any place in Africa? Canada? Lietchenstein?? Unless you have been to these places you have to form your opinions by what you know. What do you know about these countries besides its politics?
Mostly, the world is full of people who just want to get by.
