Windows and Mac are a Operating system. A computer is just a box that holds all the components to put all together so it works. Yes there are other Operating Systems, but for the most part whey run along side of the Windows Operating system. Mac is a stand alone and all by it self.

Why, of course! There is deep blue and a host of other mainframe computers. I'm just guessing, however, that you meant personal computers. There are alternatives. You could build your own and run Linux or another non-mainstream operating systems. But, in the practical arena, it is just better to get a PC or Mac if you want to do anything with it.

Windows isn't really a type of computer (it's an Operating System)

There are a few other types of computers besides PC and Mac but none of them are a good (or current) "personal" computer

And there are a lot of operating systems out there but none are nearly as complete or easy-to-use as Windows, MacOS and Linux...

windows is not a computer its an operating system. brands of computers like dell, compaq, hp all run windows. you can build your own computer. if you are talkign about operating systems like windows and the mac os, then there are others. I am typing this message on ubuntu linux, a free operating system that in my opinion is much better than windows.
