Shook his hand twice now-he IS the Jesus of cool-Bono is a sanctimonious prick even though his band are good-does it surprise that an Irish protestant(like Paul'my dad was a British army captain'Bono) - gets honoured under this government-the answer to your xenophobic question is most definitely -YES-Weller politicised and changed the working classes-the rest is history......Thick as Thieves us,we'd stick together for all time-wanted to fuckin' cry when he sang those words-took me back to Loch Lomond festival 1979 !!

Why should anyone get an Honours if they haven't studied for one? Everyone has to work for a living, if I'm really good at what I do no one will give me an Honours and I certainly wouldn't expect one. I choose to do what I do for my own satisfaction not to be 'honoured'.

Yes, nice one,. Weller is a good lad, very BRITISH and he has stood the test of time. He's a grafter.
bono's an embarrassment, frankly.

Bono doesn't drink, adulterate, smoke & all that. Plus he does good causes, contributes generously and lives quite decently.
Weller does all these things and he doesn't contribute openly to anything. There are many people who desearve Honours more than he does. he's just a successful musician. I love listening to his tracks but being successful at your profession isn't enough of a criteria to warrant Honours fom our queen. (depending on what that profession is of course)
my headteacher in secondary school got honours for his work. that was well desearved. it would tar it's value to give PW Honours because he couldn't/hasn't approximate(d) what my headmaster did to recieve that recognition.

I think he's far too cool to receive one to be honest. Agreed he has added a lot to British music but he doesnt need honours to prove it. I think they're a little ostentatious

No. He's the most over-rated man in rock. Everything he's done has been naff and following on somebody else's coattails. He should be kicked out the country for services to crap music.
