When I first started I bought web pages for dummies,very helpful easy to understand,started using Microsoft front page which is easy to learn.Next bought another book about HTML basics.If you find templates via the web look at the code try to remember the easier tags eventually you'll start to remember the basic structure.Now I use macromedia dreamweaver for building web pages,has everything and more.Don't expect to learn over night,it takes awhile.
