If an acoustic is sprayed any colour , they usually take the opportunity to use timber or ply with flaws in it becaue the flaws will not be seen. This is only true of budget models, and does not affect their playability at all.

Electrics... oh well!!! Sparkle finishes are more expensive, i suppose. Personally I would say that any guitar where you can see the grain of the wood, is going to be slightly more expensive because they have to use wood without flaws.

You're bringing up an interesting point because when I was a teenager- in the '70s- there was a story that the "candy apple red" fenders - the REAL , pre-CBS Fenders- were more expensive. but i always thought this was an urban legend.

It isn't the color per se....you can get a "custom paint job" (like an auto or motorcyle) that would make it expensive.

But mostly, the costs in a guitar would be the parts as previously said.

I do not imagine that a particular color is but I would say the ones with the fancier designs or more customized guitars would be the most expensive.

Gibson Gold Top with real gold fittings and Trim.
Actually colour has nothing to do with it. It is the quality or rarity of the guitar itself.

it depends. you can pay more for certain finishes. musicman charge different prices for different finishes. it depends who's built the guitar.
