Well i think that it depends of it you believe in 'fate' - that everything is predetermined and everything happens for a reason.
For example say you bumped into an old friend you haven't seen for 20 years - if you are skeptical you would say it was a coincidence that you were at the same place at the same time - however if you believe in fate you would think that you were brought together by some higher power and you were destined to meet for a reason.
Hope that helps

Coincidence means that the probability of the event occuring is not beyond the realm of impossibility, although it is considered unlikely.
Fate, on the other hand, states that such actions are not examples of coincidence but timely applied events in a person's life.
In a post's example of meeting a friend: it would be coincidence to meet them at all, but it would be fate to meet them on the day after you got a divorce from your ex, and thus be in a postion to allow it to develop into a more lasting relationship.

no such thing as coincided, everything happens for a reason, no fate but what we make. for instance have you heard of someone winning the lotto just as one of their relatives gets in trouble with the law, etc... or someone learning CPR and with in a year actually using it on someone?
