I did that once and had to contact yahoo, windows and Dell to get the answer I needed. It was such a hassle, I just restored my computer back to factory settings. What a bit*h! Since that endever, I don't use that main security Passport ID any more, just the username and regular password. Life is good now. Good Luck and Happy Holidays.

Google "recover lost XP password". There are several programs available that will boot from the floppy drive and find the lost administrator password.

the exact same thing happened to me. on ur guest account, go to usernames and accounts and select the main account. even though it has a password, it still lets u change it. we might have diff. types of computers. if u have an APPLE then i don't know cuz i don't have an APPLE.

Did you create a password recover disk?
By main account do you mean Admin or a regular named account you set up?
If you can remember Admin, you can reset your main user acccount.
Otherwise, you could re-install it.

Use a password restoration application. or boot your workstation from the floppy disk, and whilst the command on the spot comes up, type. internet person "person call" "password" /upload "person call" potential your person call. supply a "password" or save it empty. dont use " " whilst u typing.then restart the workstation and you will see your account is unfastened to log. ( i did no longer attempt this yet.)
