i would like to find out what type the motor is i know it is a tecumseh vertical 6.6 HP but all that is on the motor is the craftsman model number there are no tecumseh model numbers on it so i can tell the type example tvs, lav, ecv, vm is there any place to check on the internet

Take a close look around the base where the engine is mounted to the obkect it's used on. Sometimes the number is stamped down there.

it will be stamped onto the side of the engine shroud.(the tin cover) this sometimes is not exact, especially on an older engine, due to the possibility of someone changing shrouds at an earlier time.

go to a small engine repair shop (lawn mower repair shop) and they can cross referance it for you
