In addition to some of the definitions people have provided here, tactile people also tend to respond to or use words that relate to the physical world more than others do, for example--get a handle on, stay in touch, supportive, concrete thinker, etc. Whereas more visual or auditory people like and use words that appeal to those senses.

Someone that learns from touching/doing things. A tactile person would likely enjoy or get some type of comfort out of feeling stuff. They might enjoy soft sheets or furry dogs or fuzzy socks.

a person who likes to touch anything and everything, or who learns more efficiently--for lack of a better word--by touch...autistic kids are sometimes considered to be "tactile."

Well, in education, a tactile learner is one who learns from physically doing something.

An audial learner learns from hearing (lectures),

And visual learner learns from reading or studying diagrams (book learner).

Me!!! I have to touch everything. I'm terrible in a store. I like how different materials feel so I like to look a the clothes, curtains, rugs... I can't go anywhere without touching something.
