Some Jews go to the extent of demanding they be taken down and file suit in court to have them removed from public places. At the least they are rude to people who wish them a Merry Christmas by mistake (not knowing they were Jewish)
It is very insulting after all the christain men women and children that have died because of our support for Israel and the Jewish people.
We even helped establish the state of Israel in the United Nations, after rescuing you from concentration camps in Germany.
We are in a war currently, and will probably have to strike Iran.
In addition we give Billions of dollars annually to Israel directly for their defense.
Can't we put up a Christmas tree without your insults or sneers, and if we wish you a Merry Christmas by mistake can't you turn the other cheek?

HEY MAGPIE,
I CAN USE THE SEATTLE AIRPORTS AS AN EXAMPLE, BECAUSE THE RABBI DID FILE SUIT, AND THAT IS WHY THE AIRPORT TOOK THE TREES DOWN!
I HAVE ALSO HAD SEVERAL EXPERIENCES WHERE I WISHED SOMEONE A MERRY CHRISTMAS WHO WERE JEWISH, AND WAS RUDELY REBUKED AND I AM OFFENDED TO THIS DAY AT THEIR RUDENESS.

Reva,
Calling me stupid is showing me that you are another rude jew. I never name called.
Please come to grips that 85 per cent of this country celebrates Christmas. Not Chanukah.
My point is if the numbers were reversed you wouldn't see Christains throwing the same tantrum.
Let me give you an example. In Israel it is a free country, democratic elections etc.
Christains are not there suing for the right to put up Christmas trees and take down Menorahs, nor are we cursing people who would wish us a Happy Chanukah. Hit the edit button and debate that!

Beats me. I'm Buddhist and I don't mind it when people wish me Merry Christmas. I wish it right back to them. It's sorta like saying "Have a nice day!" but in a seasonal way. I dont' see why anyone takes offense.

i'm Jewish, and that i don't get unwell of seeing Christmas decorations. definitely, I in basic terms like seeing my city finding festive. i do no longer understand what you advise approximately making a "enormous deal out of Hanukkah". a great deal how? I advise, the consumerism surrounding the trip season is deplorable. As for the non secular "enormous deal" -- that's to the Jewish human beings, and there is not any rationalization why it particularly is going to be a "enormous deal" to human beings for whom the trip has no importance. Hanukkah decorations are a take-off of Christmas decorations besides, and their limited exhibit does not offend me the least bit. As for listening to Christmas music, I do get unwell of it. no longer because of the fact it particularly is Christmas music, yet because of the fact the same dozen tunes are performed returned and returned and returned and returned for extra beneficial than a month on each significant radio station, in each save, and in each public place. each 3 hundred and sixty 5 days. It in basic terms gets on my nerves, sorry. If the same Metallica album replaced into performed like that, i'd get unwell of it too.

You say yourself that it is 'some Jews' so stop generalizing. Not all Jewish people hate Christmas but I can understand how frustrated they get over the emphasis on it and the insensitivity to their culture.
The US is based on the idea of religious freedom, so celebrating one group's (Christians) holiday using public money can be offensive to other groups, including Muslims, Buddhists, etc. No one can complain about it if it is on private property and done with private funds.
And don't worry about wishing someone a Merry Christmas - if they are such clods as to denounce you (not simply inform you by saying something like "I'm Jewish so I don't celebrate Christmas"), you should be the better person to turn the other cheek.

Give me a single verifiable case where Jews have demanded that Xmas decorations be removed, or filed suit to have them removed from public places. And don't point to the Seattle airport fiasco because Jews neither demanded the decorations be removed nor filed suit.
Stop listening to the inane drivel of Stormfront and Bill Oh Really--The "War on Christmas" is a myth, and the Jews participation in it is non-existent. Simple as that.
edit: Check your facts--there was no lawsuit. It was the airports decision to remove the trees, no-one else's.

Excellent points! Why DO we suppport Israel?!!? I think we are hypocritical that we support Israel, & condemn other countries in the area! That land belongs equally to each group that believes it is theirs - it just depends on which perspective you want to take! Why do we pick a side at all?
Also, Anti-semitism is not very strong in this country, but when you say someone is anti-semitic, WOW they must be the worst person on earth, even though I think many Americans don't even know what it means. Compare this with anti-Muslim, which is foregivable much of the time! They are both forms of prejudice!!!

I completely agree. Jews demand a lot from the United States (which isn't surprising, considering that this nation is run by Pro-Israeli and Zionist conservative thinktanks). The US gives billions of dollars a year to support a regime that is killing and taking innocent Palestinian lives; that, IN TURN, fuels the rage of these Islamic extremists, who see that America is supporting the Israelis, and giving them the means by which to oppress.
Also, I agree strongly with Dave's post. The slightest hint of Anti-Semitism is condemned, the person is seen as some foolish, terrible person, whereas you could be applauded for being Anti-Muslim.
It really makes you wonder why we are supporting the Jews/Israelis, doesn't it?

While you do make some good points about the Christians helping the Jewish people (Re: Israel) that really is a separate issue from the Xmas decorations. I know for a fact that many people(i.e Muslims, Atheists, etc,etc.....) don't appreciate them. Then there are the non-religious people who just don't like Xmas anyway.

I think this is a VERY general stereotype. Do Christians hate Hanukkah? Just because one or two people do something does not mean that an entire race of people hates something.
