Fiberglass Camaro Body

Camaros are made of steel, but the newer ones have some plastic body panels. I've seen them torn in half in wrecks before, but this one was going 130 miles an hour. Any car will get crushed in a wreck if the conditions are right.

Partially. The new ones have fiberglass front fenders and possibly doors, but the basic body structure is steel. And yes, the fiberglass body parts splinter in a wreck; I've seen that sort of damage on a few of them.

No Camaros are steel bodied cars, Corvettes are made with fiberglass.
The Camaro is a Uni-Body car meaning there is no frame the car's entire body structure acts as a frame and if the wreck is bad enough that it would be impossible to repair the car to factory specifications then yes it would have to be junked.

Newer Camaros have plastic fenders and rubber front and rear facias (bumpers) with steel reinforcement. The rest of the car is steel. Older style Camaros are all steel. The plastic fenders are cheaper to replace in case of an accident.

Parts of them are fiber glass.

Yes, they can be crushed in an accident. The good thing is that the crushing of the fiber glass helps slow deceleration.

In an accident suddenly stopping can tear apart your organs and cause severe internal bleeding. Slowing your deceleration can help with some of that internal damage.

The 93 and up camaros are made of mostly plastic body panels. I think the quarter panels and roof are steel.
