You have to give her key instructions on the simple do's and don't's of interacting socially on an every day basis, in a manner that is "normal" to everybody but her? Are there a set of unspoken rules for social interacting that, if she never knew them, would leave her alone and friendless forever?

What are the "rules"? I mean, Are there any or is she just not a lieable person? What advice would you give ?

Unless she's been living under a rock or in a cave, she should know the basic rules of social interaction. Some people are just really shy and THAT is a big reason that some people are alone. Not that they don't know how to interact, they're afraid to interact.

Well, that sorta depends on the 'society' in which she was raised. I can tell you that the unspoken rules would be different in Europe than they would be in Saudi Arabia, and different in Saudi Arabia than Australia, etc, etc, etc.
Since I have to assume she is from the U.S. (since that is where I am from) some very simple rules would be:
1) Not everyone you meet will be your friend.
2) Be friendly and respectful, until the person proves otherwise.
3) As you know someone better, the more intimate the details you can tell them.
4) Allow for the importance of others, but never forget the importance of oneself.

She might have a social disorder. 'Helping' her can be fulfilling or the complete opposite.. You are the judge.
