When the boys were very small, we used to buy them each one of the really complesx Lego sets - the airport, the pirate ship - and leave it under the little tree in their bedroom. This usualy bought us sleep til just about daylight. But there was the year they were up at two -
God, I'd love to have that year back again.

I live on my own now, but someone from my brother's house will prolly call at seven or eight. I have about a thirty minute drive to get there. I told them to unwrap their things and let me sleep a little. I will be there Christmas eve for a while anyway.

I wake my parents up at 7:00.Well I go downstairs without my parents first, and then I drag 'em out at 8:30.

when my kids were little, i used to put 1 present that i knew would keep them busy, on the kitchen table for them to open. they would sit and play until the alarm went off at 8 a.m. then they were allowed to come wake me up, and the "party" would begin. now that they're all grown and live within a 1/2 mile of me, they come over around 10 a.m., make me breakfast in bed, and bring all the presents to my room and we open them all on my bed. it's great.

my kids drag me out of bed long before dawn...and i am cranky if i don't get my sleep! it always irritates me, because the next day i still have to get up at 0400 to go to work and they can sleep all day-it is very hard to be all cheery at 0300 so i don't ruin their Christmas by acting like the Grinch, but i'm usually miserable on Christmas morning

around 5:00, but when my mom's boyfriend is there, 8:00-ish... he is really grouchy, too. I try to get my mom up without waking him up, then we go downstairs and open a present or two. Then we brace ourselves for his wrath of waking him up at 8:00.
