There are several ways to do this;

Here are a couple:

[1] A flat display aquarium (not real tall), with several breeder nets or plexiglass “cages”. You can place the bettas beside each until they show a receptiveness to breed (the male will build a bubble nest).
. The advantage of this method is that you can a have a filtered and heated aquarium for your bettas, just make sure there is not a strong current in the betta nets or cages.

[2] Simply set the male and female betta bowls next to each other until they again show receptiveness to breed.

Please keep in mind that the male will sometimes build a bubble nest and still not be ready to breed and may kill the female when she is introduced, so watch carefully.

Of course you can. You can't put 2 males together. If you could not put a male with a female, then how would you ever breed the next generation? Go for it, make him happy, and start a little Beta family.

I have 2 Betta's of my own and have actually been debating whether or not to try and breed them... It is actually way more complex and harder than just putting 2 together and letting them breed.. Here is a site that thoroughly explains all of the steps to breed them..

Please check it out,

Just look through all those little tabs on the side...

So 1st you need to ask yourself:

1)Do you have $50-$100 dollars to spare. That's the bare min you'll need to not have things end in tears.

2)What are you going to do with 50-100 male betta. Yes a small is around 100 fry.

3)Are you willing to risk your betta dying. Mating is rough violent and stressful. Yo risk losing one or both to infection, injury, stress, and "depression". (Males often seem depressed after you remove them from the tamk where they been tending the nest. Often they stop eating.)

If so the read the links uhohyoure... has posted. As just throwing a pair together will end in tears. Honestly the 1st couple of attempts often end in tears any way. (Generally your mating pairs live but fry die. Or the mating fails. Or...)

hhmm, i would keep them in separate tanks or bowls, but keep them near each other...unless you see the male trying to attack the femal threw the glass.
when the male is ready to breed, he will begin creating a bubble nest at he top of his tank/bowl.it will look a little like a cluster of foam floating at the top of the water surface and usually it will be attatched to the top of a plant.
do not put a female in the tank with a male unless you see his nest or see him working on/creating a nest because otherwise, he will kill her.
after you have noticed a nest you can try puting her in there, but keep an eye on them.these are fighting fish and themales are usually agressive.
thats about all the info i can offer,im sure you can find a more educated answer online just surf around and read a few info pages on betas or how websites on breeding.

you cant just put them in the smae tank because the male will kill her, put them into tanks side by side and when the male mak bubbles at the top you release the female into the males tank. the tank must be only about half full and have many floating plants with a temp of 80 degrees
