When a letter is dated by the Post Office, is this called Post-Dating? Or is there a another term?

its december 23rd postdating would be dating something dec 26th or 27th or etc on today

No post dating is when you date something (eg: a cheque) a date in the future. A letter is stamped by the post office and this is called post marking (i think)

Post dating usually applies to check writing. Some people write checks out for a future date if they currently don't have funds in their account.

if you wrote a check for one week in advance that would be "Post Date".
