I am a college student from a not so rich family, not poor though. I live on my own, and my money goes mainly for tuition and food. I don't buy my clothes at K-mart, but I don't want to plurge 200 bucks for one designer shirt. I do buy nice stuff at the mall..but I don't feel right spending an arm and a leg for some designer crap...yet my roomate affirms that designer **** is the way to get the ladies to notice/like you ... is it true that you girls get turned off if we don't wear the latest trends of designer ****? Does it really matter that much?

Unless you're a slob I don't think it matters what you wear. It's not about brand clothes but about style and cleanliness for me.I wouldn't want a guy who wears pants that hang down to his ankles revealing his dirty boxers. It wouldn't matter if a guy wore wranglers from Kmart. What matters is whether or not a guy can look decent.

Absolutely NOT true. Ok, now I may not be like super Jessica Simpson kind of Hot, but I'm definitely far from ugly and I don't think that designer clothes are that important. Maybe its because I dont come from a very wealthy family either and we've always had to buy the cheaper clothing or wear hand-me-downs, but seriously, you can still be in style without having to burn a hole in your pocket. The first thing I notice on guys is their face and build. Their clothing and accessories for me are usually the last thing I look at. If a guy is clean and not dressed all sloppy then he will definitely get noticed by sombody.. If I see a guy in the BIG EXPENSIVE designer clothes, the things I that would come to my mind are 1.) he has alot of money 2.) He's out of my league and not worth trying for 3.) he's probably a jack ***.

So there you go. Hope that gave you some insight.

I dont really care what kind of clothes that a guy wears. An honest opinion from me??? I think it is kind of conceited and arrogant to buy clothes like that because basically all I see ppl thinking when they are wearing those is..."Look at me, I have soo much money that I can afford a $200 shirt" I don't think so. Way to boasty, I hate ego-maniacs. I think you will be fine wearing whatever you like. What you think is nice is what you should stick with. You sound like you've got brains and I do not know about other females, but I like that better than any shirt that is showing off the same of someone that I don't even now.

I think having a nice built is the best way to make clothes look good on a person. Designer clothes may bring out a little more charm but if you don't have a nice toned body, the clothings wont look any different from a non-designer one. This is just to to help with your clothings problem. As for attracting girls, seriously, its more than just physical appearance. If physical appearance and designer clothes is all you need to get girls than rob a bank and you will have thousands of girls after you? I reckon its more likely they are cops.

So, go easy on your designer clothes.

Some do, some don't. Personally, I care more about what style of clothing a man's wearing than what make. Many girls who seem to be attracted to men because they wear designer suits, are only really attracted to them because it signifies they have a large bank balance.

No! Not at all! Well, for ME, it doesn't matter if a man is NOT wearing designer clothes. I like a man if he is a gentle man with me, if he looks good, if he is clean, if he is intelligent, and i like a man who wears whatever he thinks it's good, and whatever looks good on him!
Those are the important credits that I want a man to have (or just without few of them, because no one is perfect).

definitely not, i honestly dont think it really matters. i wouldn't exactly want any guy of mine to be wearing a 200 dollar shirt, that's a waste of money, i'd rather have him give me flowers and take me out for a nice dinner, who cares if his shirt and pants are from kohls or sears, as long as he looks nice

only the superficial ones. as long as your clothes fit and look appropriate I would be fine. designer clothing is for kids who bob and weave in and out with the fasion status quo. and one year from this moment it's out of style.

No ,not at all. the worst turn off is a **** personality, and if a girl doesn't like you for what you're wearing she's not worth knowing anyway!
