It sickens me that the media and people like John Kerry are so bent on tarnishing President Bush that they undermine the effort to establish a stable and freely elected government in Iraq. I'm not crazy about Bush either. What seemed like a strong and determined leader on 9-11, has become a punching bag for the media and the extreme left wing. And has conducted this war so indecisive and politically correct that we now have a true quagmire on our hands. When we had Al Sadr cornered back in 2004, we should have done away with him. Falljuah should have been stormed immediately, instead of after the 04 presidential election.
In 04 , this war went from bad to worst. All because we have to be politically correct in everything we do. These creeps we're fighting set off car bombs, and then when medical response teams arrive to treat the wounded, a 2nd bomb is detonated, as to take out the emergency responders. How can you defeat such a heinous force of killers? Not by being PC all the time

as a survivor of 911 at wtc i can tell you this simply underscores the idea that liberals have no shame. liberals cant understand after a catastrophe of that magnitude that clintons inaction in 92 when sudan begged us to help them with bin ladin and his capture directly contributed to this. we must stop jihad and al qaeda at all cost and all the whining and hand wringing from the pelosi ites does nothing but complicate the problem. i thank god every day when i had seen the horror of people jumping out of that building to their death, that we had a president who was a man of conviction and understood action against terrorists rather than with cigars and white house interns in the oval office was necessary. AMEN BROTHER.

The atrocities of 9-11-01 had nothing to do with the war in Iraq. And how can you explain attacking Iraq for suspicion of having weapons of mass destruction, and not invade Iran when they kicked the inspectors out of their country and thumbed their noses at us,furthermore,we did absolutely nothing with North Korea when they did basically the same thing as Iran and took it a step further by testing a warhead. Our biggest mistake was not understanding and researching the people, culture and belief system that governs them.We just went over there with our five hundred pound bombs and all of our military might, thinking that we would be victorious based on strength alone, our cultural differences and value system is like night and day.We should give careful study to a situation before engaging.I am not a left or right winger for the record,I am a wise voter, retired military. If you think you know the military, government, politics or whatever based on reading the papers or watching the TV,you are so out of touch with reality,I am not talking you personal,I am speaking about the plural you as a people.

Hey, ding-a-ling - what does 9/11 have to do with Iraq?

On edit: If this President knew what he was doing, he would have gotten a coalition together, gone into Afghanistan, gotten rid of Osama, and all would be right with the world. Instead he went after Iraq, which was thoroughly unrelated to 9/11, and pissed off everyone in the world and messed up the war to boot.

We could have been in a great position by now, but he thoroughly and utterly squandered it and left the U.S. at its lowest point in history. He literally has trashed decades of forward movement, and he STILL can't accept that he might be wrong.

And on double edit: You're saying the left wing forced him to be "politically correct"? So basically he's such a sucky leader that he gives into to pressure from opponents? How lame. If he really was a good leader he'd ignore those and do what is right.

Even your rebuttal is flawed.

PC has always been a problem for warriors. You have no idea how confusing it is when confronted by the Rules Of Engagement (ROE) that are written up then modified to be PC. The poor warrior has to watch their butt and worry that if they do something wrong they will goto prison.
Just my spin on things, but Kerry can't do anything but doubletalk and lie, and George W's elevator doesn't go all the way to the top. Rumsfeld made the decisions that made this whole thing a quagmire.
Westerners will never be able to comprehend people who upon a childs birth are elated that the child will one day grow up and commit suicide by bomb taking innocent people with them.

I work with the US Military and am retired Army. My thoughts and prayers are always with those who serve in harms way, and the innocent civilians who must also suffer during war.

This combat veteran can tell you that war is a dreadfully ugly business. I can also tell you that blaming the media for the Mother of all Screw-Ups that is the administration of George W. Bush is worse than stupid, it's un-American. It's the media's JOB to report the news, bad as well as good. In fact, it can be proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that they've not done the job of reporting how badly Bush and Company have fugged up every bleedin' situation they've encountered NEARLY as well as they should'a!
Lemme ask ya somthing, dude: WHERE'S OSAMA? Before you answer, think: how're we supposed to catch that little freak when Bush CUT OUT THE FUNDING and DISBANDED the CIA team that was supposed to be hunting him down? To use your own question - how can you defeat such a heinous force of killers by quitting hunting for them? PC my rosy red rectum!

There's a difference between remembering something and obsessing over it, Nobody's forgotten 9-11. To say that the left has is just mental masturbation making you feel good.

Stop listening to O'Reilly. He keeps calling certain people far left, when they are actually only less right wing than he is. I doubt most people can name an actual far-lefty.

The Brits went through the Blitz, losing far,far more than we did on 9-11, They didn't put up buildings with BS names like "Freedom Tower." It's just Republican mind control.

Thank you for this question.
I cannot stand the liberals, like Kerry, the media that continually bashes our President and the fact that like you said almost ALL of America has forgotten. HOW???
I do remember that day. I have never been more terrified all at once with so much anxiety and confusion.
I remember the first airplane I saw after 9/11, I actually tried to take the fetal position while driving! Had to pull over and get out of my car and try to breathe.
I remember seeing burned strollers, hearing about people still alive trapped in elevators using their cell phones to beg for help because the heat was cooking them and the eventually perished because it was impossible to rescue them, I remember watching the news and seeing persons walking the streets of New York with complete disbelief in their eyes and the countless MISSING posters.
I do remember 9/11.
And I do acknowledge that because of our President and his administration we have not had ONE terror attack play out since then and it will be 6 years, YEARS this September.
I think if it would not have been for George Bush, Tony Blair and our troops we would be doomed.
God help us if the liberals take over the white house in 08.

Why in the World assume that the "Iraq Problem" or the "911" problem is solvable? Before you go off throwing bombs and inflicting collateral damage (innocent Iraqi Children), not to mention American casualties - soldiers, you better be sure you have thoroughly and carefully studied your actions and consequences. This has never, and never will be, done (The Iraq Study Group was but a simple debate with one ideology emerging as "the winner").
