Does anyone think my negative test two days ago could be due to low hormone levels as I know first morning urine is best as its not been diluted by drinking loads during the day so the pregnancy hormone is higher. How many days late can i test at anytime of day and expect a accurate result?thanks guys

How late are you? Most pregnancy tests nowadays are so sensitive they can detect even low levels of HCG (pregnancy hormone) up to three days before you are due. I would test first thing in the morning any time from now if your period is already late. Good luck

Yep, first thing is your best bet. The hormone levels are highest then. Of course, if you ARE pregnant, eventually you'll be able to take a test any time of day and get a positive response, but for those early tests, first pee of the morning is the most likely for an accurate result.

Good luck!

There is more hormone (concentrated) in your urine in the morning after you have slept all night long. I had my positive test the day before I was supposed to start my period. A test anytime of day - how many days late? That is based on how much hormone your body is producing, and some women don't produce much.

It's best to take a test in the morning, of course, but there are some tests that allow you to take the test at any time of the day.
I suggest waiting a few days since the hcg levels build up every day (if you are indeed pregnant)..
I also recommend a digital test with a "Pregnant/Not Pregnant" window instead of lines.
They are much more easier to read than the lines tests.
Give yourself about a week, try not to stress too much (stress can delay your period) and just breathe.
I wish you luck either way.

there is a possibility you took the test to early if you took it a week ago and your 5 days late it was taken to days before your period was due,get another test take it with the first morning urine its most concentrated of the pregnancy hormone if it turn out to be negative I would visit your ob/gyn that spotting between periods shouldn't be its an indication of a hormonal imbalance. and it could cause a problem conceiving or some thing else could be going on .bleeding between periods is always a reason for a check up unless your on the pill and that to would need adjusting. good luck

Firstly, how late are you ? I would suggest that you repeat the test (first thing is better) as the water passed will be more concentrated and you would have had nothing to drink during the night. Try a digital clear-blue as they normally tell you 4 days before a period is due (with me it did)

Good luck to you x

the best time to take a pregnancy test is first thing in the morning butt if your two or more weeks late an ept test will detect them anytime of the day

take another test when you are due.

I took one of them tests that detects early pregnancy, it came up negative, so I was ok for 5 days. I then took regular pregnancy test 2 days after the early pregnancy test and it came up positive!
