Yes using the appropriate software,I know Nero wave editor does it but im pretty sure there's a free alternative

yes if you have the right encoding software I personally would burn it to a cd-rw as a wave file then rip it back to my computer in the mp3 file format which is larger than the mp4 file format. It is important to note that the mp3 file format is sceduled to be replaced by the mp4 file format and the process of doing so has already began. good luck.

MP4 is video, MP3 is audio, so what you want to do is extract the audio from the video yeah? Download polar bit sound recorder, and select 'what you hear' as the record source. Play the video and click record and itll record the audio and save it as an mp3 file.

An mp4 sound file is usually .m4a; mp4 files with video and audio are usually .mp4 or sometimes .m4v. 3gp for phones is also a mp4 format.
