After watching “Crystal” by New Order, they were inspired by a band in it pretending to be New Order but were actually known as “The Killers”. They saw this on the drummer's bass drum and stole it! “It gave me the ambition that our actual band should be as perfect as their fictional band,” said Brandon.

They got the name from Ernest Hemingway's story The Killers and was featured on the bass drum of a fictional band in a New Order video for their song "Crystal".
