Take away the profit potential from the drugs? why do that ? than we would have to pay the drug dealers welfare checks.

Drug prohibition is the BIGGEST problem facing this country. The problem is that when people know nothing about something they just believe what they have been told by the government, news, ect. Of course drugs are harmful no duh, making this deadly addictive substances illegal does nothing to limit their supply all it does is put crimminals in control of the distribution. Everyone in this country must make a decision whether or not to use drugs. If someone is dumb enough to use drugs knowing the harm they cause they obviously are not going to be deterred by the fact that they are illegal. It is an undisputable fact that making drugs illegal has done nothing to reduce drug use. The exact same precentage of Americans use drugs today as before they were illegal. In the Netherlands Marijuana is legal and the Precentage of people who smoke it is the same as in the U.S. Drug prohibition has no positive benifit. I don't mean that drugs should be sold in grocery stores, but drug maintainence clinics should be set up to put dealers out of business and the crime associated with them. Also drug maintainence clinics would put an end to crime that is commited by addicts like robbery, burglery, shoplifting, ect. People actually believe that if addicts were provided with a safe supply of drugs that every American would start using drugs. That is incredible stupid. Wake up America the war on drugs has claimed more lives then all other wars of the 20th century combined and we have nothing to show for it. Watch the news some time it's not drug crime it is drug prohibition crime. Addicts do not commit crimes because they get high and lose control, they commit crime because making drugs illegal has increased the price of drugs to incredible levels. Dealers kill each other in the street and anyone else in the way. Prisons are filled with non-violent people. We spend billions on cops who do nothing and have zero impact. We need to except the reality that drugs are available to anyone who wants them and they will ALWAYS be available no matter what we do. That idiot who said something about China is a moron China has a hugh drug problem the only reason it is different from ours is they have a different culture. Drug prohibition is killing this country, but like most things ignorant people will likely continue to believe what they are told and the rest of us will have to live with the consequences.

Thats possibly the dumbest thing I have ever read! Dope pusher's like yourself are always trying to justify thier habbit. Druggies deserve to be in jail, and if thier cell mates with rapists, murders, and molesters then so be it. Thats exactly were a criminal belongs. JAIL!!!! I have seen first hand what drugs can do to families. Your liberal thinking and bashing of republicans is a pathetic attempt. Drugs kills children, adults, and ruins lives. Im sure you will say well so does alcohol, and I dont dispute that. I suggest you focus on more important things besides defending a dead beat addiction that will get you nowhere real quick!

Yeah, Reagan screwed up because he didn't push for the death penalty of these scumbags that sell drugs to your 10 year olds, then get picked up by the age of 14 to make porno movies with aids ridden junkies that make more money than you and me and my wife could make in 10 years. Then they funnel it back into drug purchasing, which has no taxes, and finally get in their car one night and on a burnout night and cross the median and kill a family of four. Yeah, Reagan really was looking out for himself wasn't he!
I say we legalize drugs completely, and get rid of the statutory rape laws also. There were no laws about these in the 1800's. That little 12 year old across the street from me is looking mighty succulent these days! Maybe I could also convince her 14 year old brother to join in!!!!!!!!!

Yes drugs should continue to be illegal.
Obviously drug use will never stop! however, it slows down or is at least concealed (not around people who don't want around it, and children) since it's illegal.
If it were not illegal , imagine how many more addicts would be raising children, and how many more innocent teens would be subjected to it being done in the sidewalks, excetera. face it, people who do drugs hide, and thats a good thing

Crime rate has dropped like a rock. In the 80s people were being killed robed and beat just so the drug user could get a hit. I do not want to go back to that so YOU can get a eazy fix.

What? Ask the government to be logical? Can't happen. First mother with a kid that ODd will scream so loud that the stoners won't have a chance. Besides, the price is low as is, the quality control is as good as your trust in the dealer and it's fun to break the law.

Only pot should be legal. This is the most used illegal drug in the United States. If it was legal, do you have any idea on how much money we'd save by not having to arrest people for possesion.
