Unless you really are using a proxy sever, which I doubt you are its Saturday and you're unlikely to be at work, this is one of Internet Explorers features you can turn off as most people simply don't need it.

Go to Internet Options either in Control Panel or via Internet Explorer's Tools menu, choose the Connections tab and click on LAN Settings. Once there untick both options in the 'Automatic Configuration' section and you should be done.

Good luck!

Try to force in the proxy settings under your IE browser's setting...You need to check it out what is the correct proxy setting from your Internet Service Provider....

you should be ok, yet i could examine information superhighway explorer's proxy settings. something could have replaced them to apply a proxy. pass to LAN settings, if the field "use a proxy..." is checked, uncheck it.

Go to "Tools-->Internet settings..."
There click on the "Connections" tab and click on "LAN Settings".

Uncheck to look for automatic proxy settings.

If you *do* use a proxy, enter it manually. Otherwise just OK out of the settings and enjoy.
