is it correct if I say "time goes slowly"? if yes, why Madonna sings Time Goes by Slowly. Why there is that "by"?

"goes by" = "passes"

"goes" = "leaves, exits, departs"

Time passes but it never departs.

"time (does go) goes slowly" is correct usage but is different from "time goes/passes by slowly". I'm sure there is an English description for the difference, maybe some teacher can tell you.
