Global warming, I'm fearing for January, here in the north without snow. Snow acts like insulation against the frost, fearing we're in big trouble if it really gets cold in January, -40c's is what we normally get. Imagine all the cracked foundations, the water pipes that might freeze. I'm sad, it doesn't feel like christmas, used to having a white christmas yet it's raining today.

Global warming. I like it. You never have to shovel rain. Almost no one slips and falls on rain. Except on rare occassions and in rare places, rain does not accumulate to the height of two feet or more.
Warmer weather helps with the utility bills. It saves on the use of salt, which is an expense and a problem for the environment.

El Nino.
El Nino sets off a Pacific flow across Canada and the U.S, keeping Arctic air locked up in the north.

If you are living in Canada I suggest you have a little patience. Your desired snow will get there soon enough. And then my friend you will be looking for rain so it will be warmer and safer. Be careful for what you ask for in weather.

actually, its because a blocking system hasnt moved down from the north pole. this block sets up a colder pattern. long term models show it might move down to near russia, which woud be perfect for this block!
