Why do gay men sometimes go after straight women and wreck their lives and then say "oh by the way I am gay" I have had this happen twice now. Both of these men pursued me and they didn't "act gay" in the beginning but once the "had me" (mentally not physically) they wanted to jump ship because suddenly they remembered they were gay. Its not like they were dumping me because the sex was bad (usually it seldom happened) or we fought or disagreed about things. They just would say it was a confusing time in they're life or some ****, and then want to bail on me.

Men who are gay and romance women are in denial, are scared, are subconciously 'therapizing' themselves into believing they can 'change'.

They are not maliciously trying to hurt these women.

It is not about the woman at all, it is about their guilt.

you can't expect everyone to be as self-aware and confident as you are.

If you were told by your loved ones and society that you're a 'freak' for being gay, you'll do anything to stop being a 'freak' by deluding yourself to think you could stop being a 'freak'.

Get it?

Lots of people say this is a last minute attempt to be gay but I agree loads and loads of gay men sleep with women and still claim to be gay. I've met some 100% gay men who would never entertain the thought of women but there are some that will get their end away whatever is on offer. I had to go out with someone who claimed to be gay and wa sout and proud but was desperate to sleep with a women again because it had been about 5 years since he last slept with one and was getting the urge for straight sex. Sexuality can be confusing.

That has happened to me, too.

I think it's a last-ditch effort to try to change themselves so they don't have to face the fact that they are gay. It probably had nothing to do with you--if anything, you might try to see it as flattering that they thought you might be a good enough woman to prevent them from seeking men.

I am extremely wary of nice men now, as I'm sure you are. I wish I could give you advice on how to know ahead of time whether or not one is gay, but only time will tell.
