~That's a good question. Are you the father? If you aren't sure, demand a paternity test. Is your name on the birth certificate?
I would think you would be entitled to visitation as well. I don't see how any country could demand anything from another country like that.
Good luck and Merry Christmas.~

I completely agree with the other person (Hello).
I would suggest that the woman's country most liekly would not have aby legal treaties covering child support with the US Government and vice-versa meaning that teh US would not be able to legally impose a child-payment order on the father.
That being the case, most likely would be the scenario that the father returns to the plaintiff's country and seeks a court hearing to fully explain the nature of the case, in which instance the court may enact some custody order so that child payments are equally shared.
Honesty, unless the mother's nation is one of the developed countries with very close ties to America- I'd find it doubtful that her country could bother to pester the US to support their court (bear in mind, a civil or at least lower court such as family court) judgement on a US citizen.

This sounds like a "red cross moral question" and I'm not a great fan of the red cross at this time.
However, based on the facts you have given, it begs the question -
Why did this foreign female go to US to get pregnant?
Why did she return to her country or origin presumably KNOWING if she was pregnant, that child would be a child entitled to have an american passport?
Why did she take the child back to her country of origin WITHOUT the permission (presumably) of the father?
Could that action in itself be constituted as "kidnap"?
Why hasn't the matter been brought before the Court?
etc etc etc etc
I think I am questioning the motives of this woman based on your words in your question.
With regard to child support - let the Court sort it out !
if her motives were honourable, she'll have nowt to worry about.

I believe that would depend upon which country the mother and child are residing in. Morally, of course, the father should pay support for his child, regardless of where that child is because the child should not be penalized for his mother's decision to take him to another country. Legally, I don't know, because as I said earlier, that would depend upon the country the child is presently in and what kind of agreements there are between the two countries.

please be precise on a couple of things ?
where was the child born ? US or outside ?
which nationality does the mothers have ?
as far as i know ? no ,you are not obligated to pay child support if ,first of all ,you are not married ,and she has no proof of you being the father ........
does the child's birth certificate have your name on ? ???
did she leave without court permission ?
did you go to court ?
i do NOT think ,that another country can make you pay for child support, it would take alot of legal and international preparations for her to do so ..........
do come back and if you do not mind ? tell me ? which country she is in now ?
i will tell you the legal way and your rights if ,indeed you have some ?
it all depends on the child birth rights ........and from there ? i can look for you .........
ps :excuses-me ,i just now noticed that you said your child is a Non US citizen .......then ,NO, the law cannot force you to pay child support ..................

the mum desires the written consent of the father or a courtroom order granting her sole custody. it can be a sturdy concept to ask the father first yet while he does not sign then i could bypass to courtroom. together with his record that is going to be a threat to get consent to flow with the new child. the mum would want a sturdy relatives legal expert. the new child heavily isn't admitted to america as a ability immigrant devoid of the wonderful permission. Any attempt to easily carry the new child on a holiday and then stay could result contained in the new child being illegally cutting-edge and the mum in danger of prosecution for kidnapping. Get the new child custody taken care of out first then artwork on the visas for the two certainly one of.
