It wouldn't have though. The price of oil was at low. The government didn't care about bio fuels until the supply started to be pinched. Methanol so far isnt the answer cause it takes too much corn to produce to replace gasoline.

I suppose bio fuel is all right, though the refining process generates a lot of pollution, after all, it is basically burning carbage. Also, I do not know why Bush has invested heavily in the first generation of ethanol fuel, as it isn't that nature friendly anyway, if you factor in tractors, fertilizers and so on.

Though I hear where on the brink of a breakthrough of creating a more efficient ethanol refining technique.

The best option is refined waste cooking oil, for now at least.

I think that with the money you are using on Iraq the whole of Finland could go on a luxury pension. Probably enough left for Sweden... Norway is pushing it.

Weapons manufacturers would be out a lot of money, oil prices would be lower, and Iraq would still be a country instead of a pile of rubble. This would go against the Bush plan, that's why he and daddy made so much fun of Gore.

if it was spent on anything else besides iraq such as putting up Hooters restaurants on every corner, the world would be better. I can think of hundreds of ways for the money better spent in iraq.
