Mostly people ask questions for some general (Ithought rather obvious) reasons.
1) Because they want to find the information that they require or information that they wonder about
2) Because they wish to provoke thought in others
The first reason would be when they themselves do not already know the answer, however people often know the answer when they are asking for the second reason.
You could have answered your own question by asking yourself "Why did I ask this question?" =P

People ask questions for two basic reasons... 1. To find out the answer to that question and 2. To participate in communication.

it's a primal urge to evolve
human's existance is based on power struggles
although the reasons for asking these questions may be different
i feel the basic craving for knoledge is instinctually for the purpose
of power
that's only one answer i guess
if i were to look deep into my own interest in your question i might conclude
that it challanged me
what are your reasons for asking this question, maybe there lies your answer.
also i think that there is a comfort in having definitive answers
questions also offer wisdom and with wisdom comes the ability to
to accept that not everything is explainable
maybe thats why most old people are very comfortable with themselves
this is my human experience so far
take from it what you will

People ask questions for the reasons:
To know the brain of others how wisely they answer and ;
To know the answer to their problem with different opinions.

1- they have questions that they couldn't answer or questions in areas that are unknown for them
2- they want to know other people's opinion regarding some facts, for example personal stuff ("Is it OK for a girl to ask for a date", "Is it normal", etc)
3- why did u ask this question???

are you just referring to this area? or in general ,such as ,in life ?
if you are talking about here ? i imagine ,if they have a question ? is because they are trying to find an answer ?.))
some people perhaps ?have a hard time finding the answer alone ?
when one stops asking questions , whether it is here or elsewhere ? it is pretty sad ,for one ,never knows # all # in life ........
by the way ? does this answer your question ?.....)))
