My 2nd question is which type of trade job do you think a person should avoid? And why?

First of all, whatever trade you decide to get into, make sure there is an established program to follow in an apprentice fashion. If I were starting all over again and wanted a trrade, I would choose to be an electrician. Second would be plumbing, and carpentry would be third.
Whatever it is, you have to establish an education period that can be verified.
Good luck

A good trade job is a machinist. You can go through an apprenticeship program and be trained. These jobs earn good wages in the US and are in high demand in industry. Another good trade is an electrician.
