My mom and dad went to Wal-Mart tonight. As they were searching for a parking spot, this car was backing out in the front of them. Another car was behind. The car in the front backing out tore off the front of my dad's car and drove away.

My parents called the police and they didn't show up until 2 hours later. My dad had the car's licence plate number, but on the computer it said the number didn't exist. The store's manager said he'll check the security camera tape, but he never did.

The police wrote on the report that an unknown driver damaged my father's car. And that's all! The police isn't even going to search for the sob that did the damage to my dad's car. Now, my dad will have to pay $500 for the damage.

Where's the justice?!

Many people witnessed the crime. Security guards in front of the Wal-Mart, hundreds of people stood and watched. My mother saw a man taking some pictures with his camera phone when the crime was happening.

~Sorry to hear about your dad's car. That is a hit and run and should be taken more seriously. You should be able to get a copy of the police report and inform them that it is not correct. Call the courthouse, sheriffs office and any place else you can think of that will listen.
There is no justice here. Did anyone else witness the crime?
Good luck and Merry Christmas.~

Your dad probably wrote the number down wrong. He can go into the store and ask again for the manager to check the tape. Then he can get the correct number and report it again.

Unfortunately, that is life.
This is a minor crime/incident, and there are enough more serious incidents and crime, that things like this do not get the time and attention we would like them to. The police resources go towards the resolution of serious/major crimes.

This is all too common... you eat the $500 and move on with your life... just be glad that he has full coverage on his car and doesn't have to pay all of the repair cost.
