o.k. say you went to a party with one person, a friend.

You were with people a lot older than yourself....and they were talking about world war 2...o.k.

They ask your opinion...about it all, and because you were not there....all you can say is ''well many people lost their families, not just those who enlisted''

You have ''limited info''....but you use the little you have...to get you through that conversation!..without looking like some idiot.

You could even throw in that your grandfather did fight in the war, and give some small info...in other words...making it up, as you go...is not just about telling lies...but being able...to convince the other person-peoples...If you know what I mean.

saying the first things that come to your mind. Like if someone said type about dogs for a whole minute....Dogs are mammal quadrapeds that live primarily in domestication with other human beings. They like to jump, eat, and can be trained to do tricks. My dog likes to run in circles. We like to go to the park togetther and play games. I like to walk my dog. My dog and I run together every morning..... I just made up that as I went along. I typed about dogs for a minute using only the stuff I know in my brain.

If you don't have a definate way of how you will get something done, or resolved then you make up your own way as you go along. Pretty much you are creating a way of doing something that you are unsure of how to do or how you will get it done. Hope this helps.

As you go on, you keep saying whatever comes to your mind about a particular topic, and if you don't know then you make up something of your own

It means:

To create the story you are telling as you are in the act of telling the story.
Rather, to make up the facts as you think of them. It's like telling a fable that you're thinking up at the moment you think it up. To improvise.
