LCD screens actually have crystals in them that project light I believe, and sometimes they burn out, causing a white or black spot on your screen.

lcd screens are like any other hardware.
They fail sometimes.
A black (or white - bright) pixel has failed.
Check your warranty. You may be able to get help from the manufacturer if the failure/s around outside their limits.
