I think that they are one of the most beautiful things that I have ever seen and I thank God for giving me vision so that I could enjoy them. I always loved being a "stargazer", even now I can sit outside for hours. Once I worked with a guy that had Diabetes that ruined his eyesight and was left legally blind. When we got off of work I looked up and said "wow, look at the stars, the sky is so clear". He told me that he couldn't see them anymore. It has made me appreciate them all the more ever since then.

When I look at the stars above, I feel as though I am falling up into them. The sky is like black velvet that cannot quite be touched even though one is floating through it. It's endless and soft, relaxing and sensual.

***
My love, who sees the same stars as me, from underneath the same moon... but she is 12,000 miles away, and tonight we see the stars from underneath a blue, blue moon.
I'm also thanking my lucky star, the one who brought my love to me.
And I think of this poem ...
*
*
You would think
That a heart
Could feel itself in bloom
You would believe
That a soul
Could discover a place to call home
*
But what if
The heart was lost
Amongst a field of roses
What if
The soul was wandering
Through the midnight hue of stars
*
You would hope
That a heart
Could find itself in love
Warm and embraced
By a hand that would never let go
Yet willing to let it thrive alone
*
You would desire
That a soul
Would find the place it always searched for
Comforted and secure
Amongst it’s brethren in a family
Yet cherished by one far away
*
Would one still childishly believe
That a heart
And a soul
Could be separated by so much difference
To find a place to each call their own
Yet find themselves paired in wonderful unison
*
That one would draw strength from being held
The other to collect itself in a land defined as heaven
That one would define the most vibrant of hue
While the other stands in dreams above
That one could be held so close
And be touched by one so far
*
You would think, that a heart and a soul
Could forever find themselves together
That a stranger laying in a field would observe
A simple rose and a star
And know without doubt
That true love could span any distance
*

I think of how beautiful and big the world is and how there are so many things life has to offer. like, IDK it makes me want to be a better person. like astronauts get to see the stars and the moon up close but because they worked their whole lives for it so maybe if I stick to what I want and get it, it will be just as beautiful as going to the stars cause I worked hard for it.
man oh man am I cheesy.

About the immensity of space, time, and distance.
Looking at stars is looking back in time.
And, how lovely they are....
