It's Christmastime,
there's no need to be afraid
At Christmastime,
we let in light and we banish shade
And in our world of plenty
we can spread a smile of joy
Throw your arms around the world
at Christmastime

But say a prayer,
pray for the other ones
At Christmastime it's hard,
but when you're having fun
There's a world outside your window,
and it's a world of dread and fear
Where the only water flowing
is the bitter sting of tears
And the Christmas bells that ring there
are the clanging chimes of doom
Well tonight thank God it's them
instead of you

And there won't be snow in Africa this Christmastime
The greatest gift they'll get this year is life(Oooh)
Where nothing ever grows
No rain or rivers flow
Do they know it's Christmastime at all?

Here's to you raise a glass for everyone
Here's to them underneath that burning sun
Do they know it's Christmastime at all?

Feed the world
Feed the world
Feed the world
Let them know it's Christmastime again

Feed the world
Let them know it's Christmastime again
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!!

Great song, yeah.

Check out "Christmas for my pen|s" by The Vandals. Now, that's an excellent christmas tune.

Thank you for that reminder of the needs of the world. We should remember to be generous to those we don't know and to work for the benefit of the whole world, as many Christians do the whole year round. In churches up and down the country prayers are said for our brothers and sisters in the poorer parts of the world.
And to answer the question, do they know it's Christmas, there are plenty of Christians in Africa who will be celebrating the birth of Jesus.

I'm sure everyone knows it's Christmas! Feed the world- I'm sure that is nice, but a lot of the time our own is forgotten! We have plenty people, right here in our own country that are going hungry every day!

A beautiful song with a strong message. We should all be grateful that we have food and shelter.

If we all donated canned goods to a food pantry, volunteered our time to serve a hot meal to the needy or gave our old, still usable coats to poor families, it would make Christmas extra special for us and others.

If you don't have money to give, give your time.

Merry Christmas.

I love this song and does my 4 years old child too; she even asked me to buy this CD.
"Feed the world"... why feed so many animals to feed the humans, why don't feed the humans directly instead? Feed the world, why feed the deforestation for meat consumption and bring the drought and misery? Feed the world, why feed the tongue?
Merry Christmas

Skycat. Thanks for posting it. I have heard this song a couple times this year, as usual. I was hoping it would appear here.
We need to always remember there are places on earth far removed from our own riches and traditions.
As before, Merry Christmas to you and your's.
