Spiderman will be going back to the black costume next year, due to the fact that there will be the black costume in the Spiderman 3.

How many different costumes has Spiderman worn over the years(starting the original blue & red)?

1 Blue & Red Original
2 Black Alien Costume/Non alien Black costume
3 Captain Universe(Acts of Vengenance)
4 Scarlet Spider
5 Ben Reilly version of the Red & Blue
6 Red & Gold version

Do you also count the House Of M version of his costume?

What about that DC vs. Marvel "Spider-boy" costume?

Forgot about the webbing under the arm costume.

But if I remember rightly Steve Ditko drew webbing under the arms at the begining of Amazing Spiderman.

Silver & Black? I remember Spidey donned a Black & White costume to fight Morbius(during the "Spiderman" series run McFarlane had started). If that's the one then it counts as the nonalien b&w costume, technically speaking of course.

wo you ask for a lot man here we go.

Classic - The one and only classic Spider-Man look: Red & Blue, sometimes Red and Black costume with spider on front and back with webbing all around the red parts of the costume...This was Peter Parker's first costume after his wrestling costume he wore in Amazing Fantasy #15 and every time he went on to change his look, it wasn't long before he went back to the tried and true classics!...Here are some looks of the classic costumes:

Apart from artistic interpretations, the Classic Spider-Man costume has been relatively consistent looking throughout it's many years...The details most deviated from concerning his costume have been the webbing under his arms and the size and shape of his eyes in his mask.

About that webbing under his arms: Here is the Classic look by the great Spider-Man artist Steve Ditko...He displays much larger webs under Spider-Man's arms that has changes from artist to artist and from time to time...Sometimes the webbing was smallish to not even present to the other extreme of it having a visual impact of spanning a wide area from his wrists to his waist.

Possibly the most Classic of the Classic poses displaying the Classic costume is the one featured on the cover of Amazing Fantasy #15. Here is a rendition by John Byrne with a much smaller version of the webs under the arms.

Another minor variant on the Classic Red and Blue is when the Blue parts of the costume was replaced with Black parts...Some artists such as Erik Larsen and John Byrne have used this variation from time to time...Artistic tastes are the number one reason for changes in Spider-Man's costumes since the beginning.

Alterations - Here is a look at Spider-Man's costumes that are just altered in one way or another...The alteration can be either cosmetically or it can serve a purpose with the prominent alteration being that of the fan favorite black costume in either the alien or non-alien form...See for yourself:

Alien Symbiote Black Costume

The costume that was heralded as Spider-Man's new costume back in Amazing Spider-Man #252...The costume made it's debut in Secret Wars #8 as Spider-Man on the Beyonder's planet during the Secret Wars...Spider-Man tried to replace his costume with a new one from an alien device that created new costumes...Well, he used the wrong one and an alien black substance formed over his body becoming a "costume"...The Alien Black costume was able to produce it's own unlimited webbing and it wasn't until Amazing Spider-Man #258 that it was realized that the costume was alien in nature with help from Reed Richards. The costume broke free from containment and went on to take on it's first host, an unnamed man from Indiana in Spectacular Spider-Man #99. It eventually met it's "master" in Eddie Brock and later went on to become part of Venom when bonded with Brock.

Regular Black Costume

Spectacular Spider-Man #99 was the issue that featured the 1st non-alien black costume sewn by the Black Cat for Spider-Man to wear...He resisted at first stating he got the "Heebie Jeebies" thinking about the alien one, but had to wear it out of necessity in Amazing Spider-Man #263 when his regular costume was still not dry from being cleaned in a sink...He went on to wear both the black and regular costumes until the alien one came back to his closet cataloguing as the sewn costume...That relationship ended in Web Of Spider-Man #1 before the alien costume went on to bond with Eddie Brock becoming Venom...Peter also ceased wearing the sewn black costume due to his wife Mary Jane's fear of it and Venom.

Spider Armor / which really should be the first "iron spider/ or what others like to call stark armor"costume if you ask me. cause it look's more like an iron man creation then the resent one peter was wearing. and peter made it all by him self. compared to the red and gold which he built with tony. seriously thje red and gold didn't look that armored. it look more like the type ofthe X-men and the FF wear which more protective but yet consealed disquise wise.

Any WaySpider-Man wore this costume in only one issue, Web Of Spider-Man #100, and one issue only....Peter created the armor to aid him in defeating the New Enforcers in that issue...It helped protect himself from Plant Man's mutant spores as well as from extreme temperature blasts wielded by Dragon Man, Eel, and Thermite...It hasn't been seen since that issue.

Ninja Spidey

Spider-Man added some rags to his costume to patch up some very torn parts of his costume in Spectacular Spider-Man #213 & #214. It gave him the appearance, at least somewhat of a ninja while battling Typhoid Mary/ Bloody Mary in those issues.

Insulated Spidey

Another one issue appearance, Amazing Spider-Man #425, showcased Spider-Man in his thermal, Insulated costume that helped take some of the impact from a much more powerful Electro and his electric blasts...This costume is quite reminiscent of the one he wore in Spectacular Spider-Man #66 where he used an old rubber air-mattress to create his first insulated costume against, of course, Electro!

Cyborg Spidey

A two issue appearance, Spider-Man #21 & #22, where a man named Oscar McDonnell gave Spider-Man a cyborg cast while his arm had a hairline fracture...It gave him full function while allowing it to heal at an accelerated rate in the middle of the Revenge Of The Sinister Six storyline.

Octo-Spidey

Near the end of Funeral For An Octopus #2, Spider-Man began to wear the harness that Otto Octavius wore as Doctor Octopus...He could hardly control the arms becoming wildly off-balance until he broke free of the harness in Funeral For An Octopus #3...He has yet to wear them again.

Unlimited

From the pages of Webspinners #13 & 14, Spider-Man was introduced to a new costume that resembled the one in the animated series...The story featured Spider-Man and Negative Zone Dusk battling Carnage and Blastaar in the Negative Zone...It also saw the return of the Carnage Symbiote to Cletus Kasady after their return to Earth.

Homemade - When Spider-Man needed a costume and he didn't have one readily available...So what did he do? Lets find out:

Wrestler

Peter Parker's first costume, used in Amazing Fantasy #15, saw Peter used some sort of mask to cover his identity while trying to win the $100 prize money for staying in the ring three minutes with Crusher Hogan...After he won the money, he knew he had to create a costume and thus the Red & Blue/ Black classic costume was born.

Costume Shop

Spider-Man needed a costume and badly in Amazing Spider-Man #26 and he got one from a costume shop before battling the Crimemaster and the Green Goblin...It didn't quite fit as you can see!

Costume Shop II

Spider-Man's mask was taken off while battling Doctor Octopus in Amazing Spider-Man #113...The mask was later retrieved by Randy Robertson who later gave to his father Joe and it then got into the hands of J. Jonah Jameson at the Daily Bugle...Spidey needed a mask, so back to the costume shop he went where he found a Spider-Man mask with no eye coverings...His eyes looked like someone penciled them in for that issue and #114 where he battled Hammerhead and he also wore an exo-skeleton formerly worn by Doc Ock.

Bag-Man

Amazing Spider-Man #258 is the issue where Spidey found out that the black costume was alive and alien in nature...It was also an issue where he didn't have a costume while it was being tested by Mister Fantastic, so with the help of the Human Torch, he had a temporary new one: A classic Fantastic Four costume with a brown paper bag for a "mask"...Of course, this costume didn't last very long at all until he adorn the ole paper bad once more in Spectacular Spider-Man #256

Black Scarlet Spider

In the middle of the Mark Of Kaine storyline, Peter used the remnants of his old Black costume to create a makeshift costume in Spider-Man #58...It looked like a combination of the Scarlet Spider costume and the Black costume.

Transformations - This is basically a case where it's not exactly the costume but more of the person inside the costume making a change...Peter Parker has been through many different physical changes in his career as Spider-man and here are the most prominent ones:

Six Arm Spidey

Spider-Man grew four extra arms at the end of the infamous Amazing Spider-Man #100 where Peter tried to create a potion that would make him normal once again...After taking it, Peter had some hallucinations then was surprised to learn that he grew the four extra limbs...He went on to battle Morbius in Amazing Spider-Man #101 with the Lizard joining in on the fun in Amazing Spider-Man #102...The extra arms were all gone by the end of the trilogy.

Spider-Hulk

In the midst of battling the Hulk in Web Of Spider-Man #69, Spider-Man was zapped with a Biokinetic Energy Absorber that was in the same vicinity as the Incredible Hulk...Of course this meant huge quantities of Gamma Radiation was present and Spidey went on to Smash!...At least temporarily in Web Of Spider-Man #70!

Spider-Carnage

After battling Carnage in Amazing Spider-Man #410, Ben Reilly was shocked to learn that Carnage vanished in the middle of a huge rumble...He found him later in that issue and yet another battle ensued that ended with a much larger shock to Mr. Reilly: The Symbiote that bonded with Cletus Kasady took a liking to Reilly and thus Spider-Carnage was born!...Ben fought to regain control of himself in Spider-Man #67 and it wasn't until Spectacular Spider-Man #233 that he broke free of it's control and returned once again to Kasady.

Spider-Lizard

At the end of Spectacular Spider-Man #39 Spider-Man turned into a Lizard like creature resembling one of his most feared foes, the Lizard...In Spectacular Spider-Man #40, it was learned that while Spider-Man was curing Curt Connors of the energy charge that turned him into the Lizard, Spider-Man absorbed radio-active feedback that affected his blood...Spider-Man was cured after Connors administered a vial of serum into his bloodstream.

Spider-Phoenix

Excalibur guest starred in Spider-Man #25 and they combined forces to combat Arcade...After administering C.P.R. to Phoenix, Spider-Man somehow gained similar powers to her and became the Spider-Phoenix...It was quickly learned that a Bio-Organic Circuitry Board was webbed to Spider-Man's back and that Arcade was behind the shenanigans experienced by all.

Cosmic Spider-Man (Captain Universe)

Spider-Man first gained cosmic powers in Spectacular Spider-Man #158 courtesy of Captain Universe...The powers were only temporary but it enabled Spider-Man to make quick work of such heavyweights as Magneto, The Hulk, Tri-Sentinel, Goliath, and others.

Copycats - Peter Parker is not here...These are costumes that are based on his costumes and worn by other individuals.

Scarlet Spider

Ben Reilly needed a new identity and a new costume and since there was the original Spider-Man still in circulation, a new Spider-Man was born...Web Of Spider-Man #118 was the landmark issue as Ben wore the homemade costume for the first time until he had to give up the identity due to the appearance of a the cybernetic Scarlet Spider in Web Of Scarlet Spider #3.

Spider-Ben

Ben Reilly's first costume all his own as Spider-man after being the Scarlet Spider for some time...It made it's debut in Sensational Spider-Man #0 while Ben was making a new identity for himself after learning that he was the true Spider-Man...Something that was later found out to be false of course.

Spider-Man 2099

Miguel O' Hara, an Engineer specializing in Genetics at Alchemax made his debut in the pages of Amazing Spider-Man #365 and later starred in his own series for 46 issues based one hundred years from the regular series...The costume is different from the classic but doesn't stray TOO far from the original.

Spider-Man 2211

Who is this guy? we only have two issue appearances to find out: Spider-Man 2099 Meets Spider-Man and then Spider-Man #1/2...He is obviously yet another hero from the future that takes the Spider-Man mantle.

Spiders Man

Another mystery man made it's first appearance in the pages of the alternate future universe series Earth X and was featured in the One-Shot Universe X Spidey...Very little in known of this character but he obviously has ties to Peter Parker.

The black suit is called Simbiate (I don't know if I spelt that right). Eddie Brock (an astrnaut) went to the moon and found this black stuff. He brought it back home to him and it some how found it's way to Peter Parker. (I'm not sure about all the details.) Well, Peter didn't realize that it had gotten a hold of him, but he started feeling stronger. He notcied he could do more than he could before, and he liked it. But it also made him act differently. After a while he realized it was taking over his life, so he tried to take it off. He did and it fell on Eddie Brock who got turned into Venom. <3,

you pretty much have a complete list. There are a few I would have also included.
The Silver plated "Spider Armor" from Web of Spiderman in the 90's and the alternate Identities of Ricochet, Dusk, Prodigy, and Hornet.
