i mean how can i make it smaller , when i upload it tho the web so it wont have to take more time to upload...
i am trying to upload a song to geocities, but it says that "the wav file is too big and cant be uploaded."... how can i make it smaller, to be uploaded to geocities?

re to the botton q ....nop.....mp3 and wav are alomost the same. i think.
first i saved it as .mp3, and then i saved it as .rm
when i cheaked the prop... mp3 had more kbs then .rm......

Hey pal, you're mixing up stuff here...

You're talking about three formats:
1. WAV - a lossless audio format.
2. RM - Real Media with compression
3. MP3 - Also with compression.

Quite often, RM will use a form of compression similar to MP3. They're both "lossy". This means: the higher the compression... (1) the smaller the file... (2) more audible quality loss.

Sites like geocity won't like you uploading big music files because of copyright issues (lots of music is protected, possibly yours isn't, but that's rather the exception).
So if you want to upload it, they'll push you into a low bitrate... or make sure you don't upload to big of files...

Convert it to mp3. WAV files are CD quality, and a 3 minute song is around 35MB. The mp3 equivalent would be around 3MB.

Reduce the sample rate of your .wav files.

If it's copyrighted music you're uploading, you would be in trouble.
